Guide
This guide is made to help controllers understand how to use TopSky PDC/DCL. If you have any questions, reach out to a member of the training department to assist you.
When someone requests PDC, also referred to as Pre-Departure Clearance, you can right click on the red R that pops up when they send a request.
The following box would then appear:
A/C = Aircraft, from aircraft THY6VY (in this case):
Gate = B12L, ATYP (Aircraft Type) = A321, ADES (Destination) = LIRF, ATIS (Current ATIS letter) = A
To aircraft:
RWY (The runway that you will assign them for departure, in Tunis it can be one of the following: 01, 19, 11, 29) = 35L
SID (Standard Instrument Departure): BARPE4D (in this case)
AHDG (Assigned Heading) = Not required, unless you give radar vector departure.
CFL (Initial Climb) = 5000ft ASSR (Assigned Squawk) = 6403
NFREQ (Next Frequency) = Tunis Ground (121.700) DFREQ (Departure Frequency) = Tunis Approach (121.200)
To insert a frequency, you would have to type it in there.
RMK (Remarks) = In case you want to say Hello to the pilot, or pass on additional information.
Upon completing all this, next to the R/T button, on the left, would appear SEND. In the case you cannot see that button, PDC/DCL does not work. This means you must click R/T (Revert to Voice Procedures), to send this message to the pilot.
Usually, you would only fill out the NFREQ and DFREQ boxes, as you would have the SID, squawk, runway, automatically inputted if you selected them in the departure list. You can see that it matches with the departure list.
