Introduction
Only submit a transfer request if you're genuinely interested in moving. Random or insincere requests waste time and effort, especially since there's a 90-day waiting period between transfers.
Before reaching out for help, take a moment to understand how VATSIM is organized and how membership assignments work. This section explains the structure clearly. When you’re ready, you'll find the right contacts on the following pages.
VATSIM operates on three main levels:
- Regions
- Divisions
- Subdivisions (sometimes called vACCs, ARTCCs, or facilities depending on location)
Not every Division has Subdivisions, but where they exist, they serve as the local hubs. Remember: VATSIM is completely volunteer-run — there are no paid roles involved.
Here’s how Maghreb vACC fits in:
- Maghreb vACC (MAGvACC) is a Subdivision under VATMENA
- VATMENA (Middle East & North Africa) is part of the VATEMEA Division
- VATEMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) is one of VATSIM’s official Regions
Transfers and visiting controller activity must follow VATSIM's Transfer and Visiting Controller Policy (TVCP v2.0). If you are only interested in Visiting, please go here.
If you're here to fly, you don’t need to join a vACC — all airspace and services are open to every VATSIM pilot. vACC membership is only needed if you're training as ATC.
